Recording Sale of Excisable Goods (Excise for Manufacturer)
Sale of excisable goods in TallyPrime is recorded using a excise sales invoice. The excise sales invoice provides options to record all statutory information required in excise sales. This will ensure that the sales transaction recorded is ready for filing returns.
National Enterprise sold Oval Eye Glasses model T1234 to Lotus Opticals, and the details of the transaction are as below:

Basic Excise Duty of 12.5% is applicable on the sales transaction.
Recording Excise Sales Transaction
To record excise sales transaction
- Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > press F8 (Sales).
Alternatively, press Alt+G (Go To) > Create Voucher > press F8 (Sales). - Press Ctrl+H (Change Mode) > select Excise Invoice
- Select National Enterprise as the Tax Unit. The Excise Book Name and the Rule 11 Serial No are displayed automatically.
- Enter details as shown in the image below:
- Press Enter to save.
Generating Rule 11 Invoice
Printing the excise sales invoice will generate the rule 11 invoice. To generate the rule 11 invoice
- Press Ctrl+P (Print Current) from the excise sales invoice.
- Press Enter in the Voucher Printing screen.
