Hierarchy of Considering Rates for Duty Details (Excise for Manufacturer)

As we have seen, the duty details can be defined at different levels. Sometimes, there are chances of that the details entered vary at each level. In this case the system overrides the details based on the hierarchy given below:

The duty details entered in a transaction will be considered for that particular transaction.

For example,

Duty rate entered in masters

5.5%

Duty rate entered in the transaction

12%

Duty will be calculated @ 12% and not 5.5%

If there is no information available at the transaction level, then the details entered in the accounting ledger will be considered.

If there is no information available in the transaction level and the accounting ledger level, then the details entered in the accounting group will be considered.

Similarly, the hierarchy will be followed and if the duty details are not available at any other level, the details entered in the company level will be considered for duty calculation.
